Lawyer of the Day Program

The Lawyer of the Day Program seeks to improve the efficiency of the court system by providing indigent pro se litigants and individuals in need of emergency relief with assistance in completing forms, affidavits, simple pleadings, financial statements and explanations of courtroom procedures.

A voluntary lawyer will be available on various scheduled motion session days.  If you are an individual representing yourself and either qualify for indigent services or are in need of emergency relief, you may sign up to meet with the Lawyer of the Day at court.  Presently this occurs on:

                                -  Mondays and Thursdays in Fall River

                                -  Tuesdays in New Bedford

                                -  These days may change so please contact the court or the Registry to confirm dates and times.

Please keep in mind that these volunteers may assist you with court procedure and form completion but are not assigned to represent you in a matter before the Court.
